Monir Alam, Moheshkhali’s pride and star defender, is prepared to make a significant impact in the upcoming season of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL).
Hailing from Kalarmarchhara Union of Cox’s Bazar’s Moheshkhali upazila, Monir has already established himself as a reliable name in domestic football, having played for Sheikh Russel KC, Chittagong Abahani, and several other top clubs.
Known for his strong presence, disciplined defending, and commitment on the field, Monir has earned a reputation as one of the country’s most dependable defenders.
Monir first caught the attention of Brothers Union during the 2024–25 season with his cool-headed gameplay, defensive command, and natural leadership qualities.
Impressed by his performances, the club has also retained him for the 2025–26 season.
Monir will once again share the field with national team captain Jamal Bhuiyan this year.

Speaking to Cox’s Bazar Life, Monir said, “I have signed with Brothers Union again this season. We have an up-and-coming squad and are fully committed to winning the championship. We are determined to play for the title.”
Sharing his experience of playing alongside Jamal Bhuiyan, Monir added,
“Jamal is a wonderful friend of mine. We have played together before at Chittagong Abahani and Sheikh Russel. We are very close, and our understanding on the pitch is excellent. Even if I make a mistake, he points it out and helps me improve during the game.”
Local football fans believe Monir’s inclusion will further strengthen Brothers Union’s defense.
