A star-rated restaurant, Faisal’s Dine, has officially opened in Maheshkhali, an island upazila in Cox’s Bazar, to serve both tourists and locals while committing to spending its profits on the underprivileged.
The restaurant, located at the ‘Pan Sculpture’ building constructed by the Cox’s Bazar Development Authority (CDA) near the Maheshkhali Jetty, was inaugurated on Tuesday (July 9, 2025) at 2 pm by Maheshkhali Upazila Nirbahi Officer Muhammad Hedayet Ullah.
The event was also attended by Maheshkhali Upazila Election Officer Bimlendu Kishore Pal, Maheshkhali Police Station OC (Investigation) Pratul Kumar Shil, Maheshkhali College lecturer Muhammad Okar Uddin, along with local administration officials, journalists, public representatives, student leaders, and social and political figures.
The initiative, led by Australia-based entrepreneur Faisal Amin, who leased the property following government regulations, was praised as a significant step in realizing Maheshkhali’s tourism potential.
Speakers noted that Faisal’s Dine would attract tourists arriving at the jetty and add a new dimension to island tourism in Maheshkhali.
From the day of its opening, the restaurant, set within the visually striking Pan Sculpture premises, has drawn crowds of visitors and tourists eager to capture memories and share photos on social media.
Maheshkhali residents expressed appreciation for the restaurant’s organized, welcoming atmosphere, quality food, family-friendly service, and traditional hospitality.
Speaking at the event, Faisal Amin stated that the restaurant aims to benefit both tourists and the local community of Moheshkhali. “This is not a profit-driven business. The earnings from here will be used to support underprivileged people in Moheshkhali,” he added.
