Cox’s Bazar sea beach has been witnessing a sharp rise in tourist arrivals centring on the weekly holidays and Christmas, with crowds not only filling the shoreline during the day but also lingering well into the night.
From Laboni Point and Kolatoli to Sugandha Point, a festive atmosphere takes shape after sunset. The sound of rolling waves, cool winter breezes, and decorative lighting have made the beach nights even more vibrant.
Many tourists relax with family and friends, chatting by the shore, while others spend time photographing and enjoying the night sky over the sea.
Hotel and motel operators say room occupancy has remained satisfactory during the holiday period. The surge in visitors has also brought brisk business for local traders, food stalls, and mobile vendors.
To ensure tourists’ safety, members of the tourist police and other law enforcement agencies have been patrolling the beach areas. Authorities have urged visitors to enjoy the beach responsibly and maintain order and discipline.
Overall, the weekly and Christmas holidays have transformed Cox’s Bazar beach into a lively celebration of tourism, making a positive contribution to the local, tourism-dependent economy.
