Just a little south along the Marine Drive from Cox’s Bazar lies a hidden slice of paradise — Pechar Dwip, a quiet, pristine island surrounded by the sea’s rhythmic waves and the salty scent of ocean air. Amid this stillness bursts a spectacle of life: thousands of red crabs scurrying across the golden sand.

As sunlight spreads over the beach, the entire island transforms into a vivid red canvas — alive, moving, and mesmerising. The quick footsteps of the crabs leave countless trails in the sand, as if nature itself is writing a story of beauty and freedom.

Locals say that since the island remains largely untouched by human activity, it has preserved its raw natural charm. “Here, you truly feel how peaceful yet full of life nature can be,” says one of them.

For nature lovers, photographers, and seekers of solitude, Pechar Dwip offers a rare retreat.

The whisper of the waves, the gentle sea breeze, and the joyful dance of red crabs together create a scene that feels both serene and magical—a living canvas of the Bay of Bengal.
