For local farmers, fishing is more than just a livelihood—it’s a source of joy and tranquility. Whenever they find spare time, they head to nearby canals, wetlands, or rivers with nets in hand, hoping for a good catch. Noor Ahmed, a farmer from Jaliya Palang, said he came to Himchari early in the morning to fish and usually catches around 8–10 kilograms of local fish by sunset. For these rural farmers, fishing offers both family sustenance and a moment of serenity amidst their simple village life.
