Registration has begun for the “Notun Kuri Sports–2026” competition, organised by the Ministry of Youth and Sports to promote sporting talent among young people. Adolescents aged 12 to 14 from across the country, including Cox’s Bazar, have been invited to participate.
According to organisers, participants born between May 2, 2012, and May 2, 2014, will be eligible. The competition will include football, cricket, kabaddi, athletics, martial arts (karate, wushu, taekwondo, judo), badminton, chess, and swimming.
Interested participants have been asked to complete online registration through the official website (notunkurisports.gov.bd) by April 24, 2026. Officials said the competition is an important initiative to enhance physical fitness among the younger generation and identify talent at the national level.
The Cox’s Bazar District Sports Office said awareness campaigns are being conducted to ensure participation from remote areas of the district, particularly targeting schools and community centers to reach a wider audience.
Local sports organisers believe the initiative will encourage greater interest in sports among the younger generation.
District Sports Officer Md Alauddin said, “This is a significant opportunity for adolescents. We want every eligible participant from Cox’s Bazar to take part and showcase their talent.”
Participants may also contact the District Sports Office in Cox’s Bazar if needed.
Officials expect that the “Notun Kuri Sports–2026” competition will help discover new sporting talent from across the country, contributing to the future of national sports.
