Warning signal no. 3 has been raised at four seaports, including Cox’s Bazar, where the sea remains moderately rough.
Red flags have been hoisted along the beach to caution visitors.
Despite the warning, many tourists, exhausted by the sweltering heat, seek relief in the sea, spending much of their time cooling off in the salty waves.
Tourists mainly bathe at three designated points—Kolatoli, Laboni, and Sugandha. For safety, Sea Safe Lifeguard authorities have urged visitors to strictly follow their guidelines.
According to lifeguards, the designated bathing zones have been marked with red-yellow or red flags, where lifeguard services are available.
They warned that entering the water outside these marked areas could be highly dangerous.
Mohammad Osman, Supervisor and Senior Lifeguard of Sea Safe Lifeguards, told Cox’s Bazar Life, “Numerous pits have formed on the beach, along with rip currents. Waves are also quite strong at the moment. We strongly urge tourists to remain extra cautious.”
Today, Friday (September 26), low tide occurred at 7:01 a.m., while high tide began at 12:47 p.m.
Authorities further cautioned that ignoring official warnings or lifeguard instructions could lead to serious accidents at any time.
