An urgent Measles–Rubella vaccination campaign 2026 has been launched in Cox’s Bazar.

The campaign will run from April 20 to May 10 across 11 working days in nine upazilas of the district, covering 1,782 vaccination centres for local children. For Rohingya children, the campaign will be conducted from April 26 to May 7 over eight working days.

The campaign was inaugurated on Monday at 10:00 am in the conference room of Cox’s Bazar municipality.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by district officials, health authorities, police representatives, and officials from partner organizations.

According to officials, a total of 536,970 children, including Rohingya children aged between 6 and 59 months, will be vaccinated under this urgent programme. Among them, 358,942 are local children and 178,028 are Rohingya children.

Vaccination activities are being conducted simultaneously across all centers in the district.

Earlier, in the first phase starting April 5, the campaign was launched in Ramu and Moheshkhali, where 116,880 children were vaccinated.

Overall, under the emergency program, a total of 653,850 children, including Rohingya, are expected to be vaccinated against measles and rubella in the district.
