AF Hasan Arif, Adviser to the Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism, emphasized that collaborative efforts can transform Cox’s Bazar into a clean and dream city. He also stated that the government is working to develop approximately 1,500 tourist spots across the country.

The tourism advisor shared these insights as the chief guest at the closing ceremony of a special awareness campaign focusing on beach and city cleanliness, dengue prevention, and reducing single-use plastic.

The Bangladesh Tourism Board and the Cox’s Bazar District Administration organized the event, which concluded its eight-day initiative on Friday afternoon at the Shahid Subhash Hall in the Public Library.

In his speech, Hasan Arif highlighted that tourism serves as a platform to connect people and foster unity.

Representatives from various government and non-government organizations, volunteer groups, and tourism stakeholders attended the event.

Awards and honorary crests were presented to participating organizations and outstanding volunteers who contributed to the campaign.

The campaign, supported by the municipality, tourist police, UN Volunteers Bangladesh, and YASID, engaged 150 volunteers and beach workers from different organizations. The event began with a moment of silence in memory of those who lost their lives in the July-August 2024 student-led movements.
