Ahead of the upcoming election, a unique sight has drawn public attention in Cox’s Bazar—a mobile campaign vehicle known as the ‘Voter Gari’.

More than a means of transportation, the vehicle has become a symbol of people’s aspirations, their right to express opinions, and the collective hope of shaping the country’s future.

Passersby stop in curiosity—some taking photos on their phones, others quietly reflecting on the moment’s significance.

Introduced by the Ministry of Cultural Affairs to raise public awareness about the referendum, the Voter Gari has been touring major roads and crowded public spaces across Cox’s Bazar for over a week.

Under the slogan “The key to the country is in your hands,” the campaign highlights the importance of the referendum through leaflet distribution and direct public engagement.

The vehicle features a whiteboard where citizens can write their views, alongside a public opinion box to collect feedback. The interactive approach has attracted particular interest among students and young voters.

College student Mamun said the Voter Gari explains the referendum in simple language, helping young people understand the importance of voting.

Another student noted, “We can write and share our opinions here. It has expanded our opportunity for self-expression.”

Pedestrians have also responded positively. One passerby said such street-level outreach can significantly raise public awareness, while another remarked that voting is not only a right but also a responsibility—a message clearly reinforced by the Voter Gari.

Observers believe that such creative initiatives are playing an important role in strengthening public engagement with the referendum and encouraging citizens to take a more active interest in the democratic process.
