Cox’s Bazar observed World Meditation Day in harmony with global celebrations.

To promote awareness of meditation practices, the United Nations has declared December 21 as World Meditation Day,

emphasizing its contribution to mental and physical well-being. Based on scientific research, the World Health Organization has also recognized meditation as a form of “self-care” and continues to encourage its regular practice for effective stress management.

In solidarity with the UN declaration, World Meditation Day was observed once again in Cox’s Bazar under the theme “Mon Bhalo To Sob Bhalo” (If the Mind Is Well, Everything Is Well).

The programme was organized by the Cox’s Bazar cell of Quantum Foundation, a voluntary organization that pioneered meditation practice in Bangladesh.

The event took place on December 21 at 7:00 am at Sugandha Beach in Cox’s Bazar.

The hour-long programme began with a welcome address by Mohammad Sharif Newaz, an organizer of Quantum Foundation.

The event formally opened with participants collectively affirming their commitment to well-being.

In an audio message, Madam Nahar Al Bokhari, Director General of the Quantum Foundation, expressed her heartfelt gratitude and conveyed warm greetings to all participants.

Another audio message was delivered by Shaheed Al Bokhari Mahajatak, the innovator of the scientific meditation technique known as the Quantum Method. Over the past three decades, Quantum has consistently emphasized the message, “Mon bhalo to sob bhalo.”

The UN’s declaration of December 21 as World Meditation Day in 2024, he added, brought a wave of joy and resonance among meditation practitioners in Bangladesh, echoing similar sentiments worldwide.

Quantum Foundation has declared 2025 as “The Year of Meditation,” giving renewed importance to meditation practice across all levels of society.

Discussions during the programme highlighted the anxiety, restlessness, stress, trauma, fear, and uncertainty of modern digital life, along with the psychosomatic illnesses arising from them. Speakers noted that meditation offers a path to relief, emphasizing the need to spread its message to every household worldwide.

Following the discussion, participants immersed themselves in silent meditation, turning inward in collective reflection. Media professionals and people from diverse walks of life were also present at the event.

World Meditation Day was observed simultaneously in numerous locations worldwide. Besides Dhaka, large-scale meditation sessions were held in more than a hundred locations across Chattogram, Rajshahi, Barishal, Khulna, Sylhet, and other parts of the country. Children, adolescents, and countless peace-loving individuals took part, united by the belief that a healthy mind leads to a healthy life.

Organizers expressed hope that World Meditation Day would inspire more people to join this journey toward well-being. To mark the occasion, a special podcast titled “Mon Bhalo To Sob Bhalo” will also be aired on the Quantum Method [Official] channel.
