Six people, including a mother and her two children, have died in separate landslides in Cox’s Bazar following continuous heavy rainfall.

In Jhilonja Union of Cox’s Bazar Sadar Upazila, a mother, Akhi Moni (25), and her two daughters were buried in a landslide early Friday morning (September 13).

In another incident, three members of the same family were killed when a landslide hit Rohingya Camp No. 14 in Ukhiya.

Mizanul Karim Sikder, a member of Jhilonja Union Parishad, mentioned that despite warnings, the victims did not evacuate to safer areas, leading to tragic accidents.

Shamsud Douza Nayan, Additional Commissioner of the Cox’s Bazar Relief and Repatriation Commission, confirmed the deaths in the Rohingya camp and noted that the landslide also destroyed three homes.
