A high-level stakeholder consultation was held in Cox’s Bazar yesterday at the BIAM Foundation Auditorium to promote transparent, citizen-friendly, and hassle-free land services. The event was initiated by the Ministry of Land and supported by the Chattogram Divisional Commissioner’s Office and the Cox’s Bazar District Administration.

The discussion focused on using modern, citizen-centric software to deliver land services free from corruption and harassment. Key highlights included the upgraded e-mutation system, online land development tax payment, digital access to land records and maps, and user-friendly e-Porcha services.

Emphasis was also placed on enhancing the skills and accountability of land officials at the field level to ensure that services reach people more efficiently and equitably.

The event’s chief guest was Senior Secretary of the Ministry of Land, A.S.M. Saleh Ahmed, while Dr. Md. Ziauddin, Divisional Commissioner of Chattogram, presided over the meeting. The consultation included representatives from government and non-government sectors, business leaders, political figures, and other local stakeholders.
