According to the local Meteorological Office, Cox’s Bazar residents have been reeling from an intense heatwave. Temperatures soared to 36.3°C on Thursday, and humidity stood at 57%, adding to the discomfort across the district.
Amid the relentless heat, a few unexpected raindrops relieved parts of Cox’s Bazar town around 8:45 PM on Thursday. Light rainfall was reported in several areas, but it wasn’t enough to significantly cool the temperature.
Residents said that while the drizzle offered a momentary break, more substantial rain would be needed to bring real relief.
For the past two weeks, the district has been experiencing daily temperatures hovering around 36°C. Both locals and tourists have been struggling with the persistent heat and humidity, making daily life and travel increasingly complex in the coastal city.
