A discussion meeting was held in Cox’s Bazar to mark World Teachers’ Day, under the theme “The Teachers We Need for the Education We Want: The Global Imperative to Reverse the Teacher Shortage.”

The event, organised by the Cox’s Bazar District Administration, took place on Sunday morning at the conference room of the Deputy Commissioner’s Office, with the participation of officials from various primary and secondary educational institutions.

Deputy Commissioner Md. A. Mannan attended the discussion as the chief guest. In his speech, he said, “Teachers are the true architects of people and society. To build a skilled nation capable of facing global challenges, teachers must ensure quality, timely, and relevant education for all students.”

Additional Deputy Commissioner Saiduzzaman Chowdhury presided over the meeting. Among others, District Education Officer Golam Mostafa, Assistant Director of the Bureau of Non-Formal Education Gulshan Akhter, DC College Principal Ibrahim Hossain, and Government High School Headmaster Ram Mohan Sen spoke on the occasion.

Speakers emphasised the need to reshape modern and technology-based teaching methods, explore students’ talents, and expand vocational and technical education to enhance their skills and employability.
