Thousands of tourists have gathered at the Cox’s Bazar sea beach ahead of the weekly holidays on Friday and Saturday. Meanwhile, the winter sea at Cox’s Bazar remains calm, with its tranquil blue waters captivating visitors.

Red-and-yellow flags have been hoisted along the beach, indicating that sea bathing is currently safe. In Cox’s Bazar, red-and-yellow flags signify favourable conditions for swimming.

Tourists are mainly entering the sea at three designated points—Kolatoli, Laboni, and Sugandha. However, for safety, the Sea Safe Lifeguard authority has urged visitors to strictly follow several guidelines.

According to the lifeguards, specific bathing zones have been clearly marked at the three designated points, where lifeguard services are actively available. These areas are demarcated with red-and-yellow or red flags. Entering the sea beyond the marked zones could be dangerous, they warned.

Sea Safe Lifeguard supervisor and senior lifeguard Mohammad Osman Gani told Cox’s Bazar Life that the sea is currently very calm due to the winter season, which is why red-and-yellow flags have been raised along the beach. He advised tourists to bathe only in the designated areas at the three points where lifeguard services are available to minimize risk.

On Friday (February 06), low tide is expected at 6:43 pm, while high tide will begin at 12:42 pm.

Officials have cautioned that ignoring warning signals or lifeguard instructions and entering the sea could lead to serious accidents at any time.
