A strong pressure variation is prevailing over the northern Bay of Bengal and adjoining areas, prompting the Bangladesh Meteorological Department to advise maritime ports to hoist Local Warning Signal No. 3.
According to a warning issued on Tuesday morning (April 28), the seaports of Chattogram, Cox’s Bazar, Mongla, and Payra have been asked to display the signal.
The advisory also instructed fishing boats and trawlers operating in the northern Bay of Bengal to remain close to the coast and navigate with caution until further notice.
Meanwhile, amid the adverse weather, a person was killed by a lightning strike in the Chowphuldandi Bridge area under Chowphuldandi union of Cox’s Bazar Sadar upazila.
