On the occasion of Bijoya Dashami, the largest idol immersion ceremony in the country took place at Cox’s Bazar Sea beach, marking the culmination of the Durga Puja festival, the most significant religious celebration for Hindus.
Tight security was in place throughout the district for the event, with the Army, Navy, Coast Guard, RAB, Police, Ansar Battalion, and Fire Service collaborating and conducting intelligence surveillance.
On Sunday afternoon, an open stage at Laboni Point on the beach hosted a “Bijoya Sommelon” to kick off the immersion festivities.
Idols from over a hundred temples across Cox’s Bazar and nearby areas started arriving at the beach.
By 5:30 PM, the immersion rituals had commenced, drawing thousands of people, including tourists and devotees. The beach had transformed into a unity gathering, with people from Hindu, Buddhist, Muslim, Christian, and other faiths coming together to celebrate in harmony.
