Cyclone “Dana,” currently positioned over the west-central Bay of Bengal and adjoining northwest Bay of Bengal, continues to move north-northwest.
As of 6 AM today, the cyclone was 595 km southwest of Chattogram Port, 555 km southwest of Cox’s Bazar, 485 km south of Mongla, and 475 km south-southwest of Payra.
The Bangladesh Meteorological Department, which has issued local cautionary signal number 3 at four seaports, expects the storm to move further north-northwest.
Despite the storm’s presence, Cox’s Bazar remains unaffected. The sky has been bright with a blazing sun since morning, with no sign of rain.
Instead, residents are experiencing sweltering heat, leaving many uncomfortable under the harsh sun.
The Meteorological Department shared this information in a special weather bulletin (No. 9) on Thursday morning.
