Sagorkonna Borno, currently pursuing higher studies in the USA, calls for ending plastic waste pollution on Cox’s Bazar beach and encourages more care and preservation efforts.
A former student of Cox’s Bazar Government Girls’ High School and Cox’s Bazar Government College, Sidratul Muntaha Borno is studying Business Administration at the State University of New York, Erie, after receiving a prestigious scholarship.
Speaking to Cox’s Bazar Life, she said that she was involved in various social and cultural activities, including singing, acting, and reciting.
“My town is a perfect place to practice the beauty of melody- sitting on the beach and letting yourself go with the salty breeze. Trust me or not, you can feel the poetry of Jibananda Das in every corner of the mountains we’ve got,” she added.
She expressed her hope, saying that in the next five years, she wants people worldwide to add “Cox’s Bazar” to their bucket lists when they think of Bangladesh.
“I hope, the people of Cox’s Bazar are taking good care of it. I’ve got a message for my homies, please, do not throw plastic on the beach. The mother ocean gets hurt when she doesn’t get back the love she gave us,” she added.
She also said that everyone should work together to make “Cox’s Bazar” the next global superstar.
