Founded in 2013, Cox’s Bazar International University (CBIU) is the only government—and UGC-approved private university in Cox’s Bazar and the southernmost university in Bangladesh. Located near Kolatoli, the campus offers a scenic view of Cox’s Bazar beach, adding to its appeal for students pursuing higher education.
Lion Md. Mujibur Rahman, a renowned educator and the university’s founder and chairman, shared his vision for advancing higher education in Cox’s Bazar.
“We established CBIU to fulfill the dream of advancing education in this region, and we remain committed to taking it even further. Financial constraints will never deprive any student of higher education,” he added.
Trustee member Mahbuba Sultana Shiuli added, “We aim to restore the lost heritage and respect of Cox’s Bazar International University.”
The university also offers scholarships from the Turkish Diyanet Foundation, supporting needy students.
CBIU currently provides a range of undergraduate programs, including BBA, LLB, CSE, English, BHTM, and Islamic Studies, as well as master’s programs in English, Computer Science Engineering, and Tourism and Hospitality Management. Students also have the option to pursue graduate diplomas in library and information science, HTM, and computer science.
