The Chittagong Hill Tracts and Cox’s Bazar are rich in diverse bamboo varieties, with demand steadily increasing. Eco-friendly resorts, cottages, and garden furniture extensively use bamboo, drawing tourists with its rustic charm. The potential for bamboo exports has recently increased, leading to the export of everyday bamboo products overseas. The Middle East has emerged as a significant market due to high demand. If harnessed effectively, bamboo exports could bring in substantial foreign currency, boosting the country’s economy while promoting eco-friendly trade. Cox’s Bazar Life Photojournalist Polash Shikdar captured these photos from Garjan Bagan area of Teknaf, Cox’s Bazar.
