Cyclist Naimbi Zia showcased an impressive performance in the Marine Drive Race 2025, securing a place in the top ten. The race, set against the breathtaking backdrop of Cox’s Bazar’s Marine Drive, became an unforgettable journey for him—where the thrill of competition met the serenity of the sea and the grandeur of the hills.

Zia began his day at 4 AM, preparing himself for the challenge. However, competing without extensive preparation was not an easy decision. “While the world was asleep, I was mentally gearing up. I knew that no obstacle could stand in my way,” he recalled.

The stunning natural beauty of Marine Drive gave him an extra motivation boost. “On one side, the vast Bay of Bengal; on the other, lush green hills—racing through this landscape was an indescribable feeling. The ocean breeze, the rhythmic murmur of the waves, and the golden hues of the sunrise made the journey truly exceptional,” Zia said.

Emotions ran high as he crossed the finish line and saw his name among the top ten finishers. “My body was exhausted, but my heart was full of joy. Securing a place in the top ten of such a grand event is a significant achievement for me,” he expressed.

Looking ahead, Zia aspires to compete in even bigger cycling events. He also hopes to see more internationally recognized races hosted in Bangladesh. “This race is not just about competition; it’s an incredible platform to showcase our country’s natural beauty to the world. I believe more young athletes will join events like this in the future,” he added.
