A three-day workshop on artificial intelligence-based content creation concluded in Chakaria, aimed at promoting digital democracy, information awareness, and peaceful social change among young people.
The closing ceremony and prize distribution event were held on Thursday afternoon at the Chiringa Peace Center in Chakaria municipality. Films for Peace Foundation organized the program with support from the Digital Democracy Initiative.
The event was moderated by project coordinator Ragib Hasan of Films for Peace Foundation. Professor Fakhruddin Forayezi, chairman of the governing body of Chakaria Residential Women’s College, attended as the chief guest.
Among the special guests were the executive director of the foundation, Parvez Siddiqui, the entrepreneur Iqbal Hossain, the former general secretary of Chakaria Press Club, Mizbahul Haque, the Supreme Court lawyer and president of Chakaria-Pekua Association in Dhaka, Mohammad Fakhruddin Siddiqui, the principal of Chakaria Residential Women’s College, Zubaidul Haque, and Professor Sabuj Kanti Dhar of Chakaria Government College. Masud Zakaria Sabin, head of visual at PRAN-RFL Group, joined the event virtually.
Held from January 18 to 20, the intensive workshop provided hands-on training on digital democracy, identifying misinformation, ethical content creation, and the use of AI tools.
At the closing session, participants were awarded based on the evaluation of their content, and certificates were distributed among all attendees.
Parvez Siddiqui said that verifying information and producing ethical content are crucial in the digital age. “Such workshops play an important role in equipping young people with these skills. We want them to use technology as a tool for positive change,” he said.
Speakers at the event stressed that adapting to new technologies is essential in today’s competitive world, highlighting the growing importance of AI content creation skills. They also emphasized the need to integrate AI into the education system.
Professor Fakhruddin Forayezi announced plans to establish an AI lab in Chakaria, where young people would receive technical support and training free of charge.
Organizers expressed hope that such initiatives would help develop a skilled, aware, and responsible generation of digital citizens.
Media professionals, students, and guardians were also present at the event.
