Cox’s Bazar’s iconic beach is not just about the waves and the sunset anymore – it’s about the food. Freshly fried fish has become one of the biggest attractions for local and foreign tourists visiting the world’s longest sea beach.

Food stalls near the beach and along the Marine Drive road see crowds of visitors every day, eager to taste the hot and crispy fish fry. Freshly caught sea fish are perfectly fried and served with salad and tangy chutney, making it a must-try beachside delicacy.

Prices vary depending on the size and type of fish. According to vendors, small fish fries start at Tk 150, while larger varieties can cost up to Tk 500.

Most of the shops at Sugandha Point use locally caught sea fish. From pomfret, coral, guizza, loitta, and catla to small native fish, all are deep-fried with special spices that give each variety its unique flavour.

For many travellers, enjoying a plate of steaming fish fry with the salty sea breeze has become an essential part of the Cox’s Bazar experience.
