Farmers in North Goalia village are busy turning hard soil into soft, muddy fields by flooding their farmlands, making seedling transplantation easier. Local farmer Siraj Hossain said they are currently preparing land for planting BR-52 rice seedlings. He added that within a week, a new round of rice planting will begin, so the fields are being kept soaked for several more days to ensure proper softness and better yield.
