From the first light of dawn, fishermen line the shoreline, casting small and large nets in steady attempts to catch fish. Local fishermen say that, due to low fish availability offshore, many are now fishing closer to shore rather than heading into deeper waters. Catches include small knifefish, tuittafish, and occasionally red snapper. Along nearby coastal jetties, others are seen repairing fishing boats.
