Along the sandy stretch from Kolatoli to Laboni Point, tourists are greeted by the cheerful call — “Fresh banana, local banana!” Every day, farmer Monsur Hossain walks the beach selling freshly picked bananas grown along the Cox’s Bazar coast. He says midday is the busiest time as heat-weary tourists look for something refreshing. These locally grown bananas not only quench thirst but also bring extra income to coastal farmers — a simple taste of local goodness by the sea.
