The Ilishia area is at least four to five kilometers from the famous Lal Bridge of the Chakaria upazila in Cox’s Bazar.

About 30-40 years ago, buffalo curd was only available in the Ilishia area, and since then, the name of Ilishia has been associated with buffalo curd.

However, most curd factories and shops are currently located in the Lal Bridge area.

12–15 curd shops in this area supply about 1000 pots of curd to Chakria Sadar, Cox’s Bazar, Pekua, and Chittagong every day.

Furthermore, many buyers travel from distant locations to purchase Cyrd directly from the traders.

Curd Trader Wahidul Islam told Cox’s Bazar Life that this yogurt is very thick and of better quality, which attracts consumers from many regions.
