Minhaj Uddin (27), known as the indomitable Minhaj, is a familiar name in Cox’s Bazar. He is actively involved in Chhatra Dal (student politics). In a conversation with Cox’s Bazar Life, he shared his thoughts about the district.

Who is Minhaj?

Born in South Rumaliarchhara area of Cox’s Bazar town, Minhaj entered politics in 2016 while studying in class Dayam (10th grade). He recalls, “I had a teacher named Shaheed S.M. Tanvir, through whom I started joining rallies. At that time, he was the Training Secretary of the District Chhatra Dal. Later, under Enamul Haque Enam, I became the Senior Joint General Secretary of Ward No. 7 East Branch. Then, I served as Senior Vice-President of the Business Education Department at City College. Currently, under Mizanul Alam, I am the Publicity Secretary of Cox’s Bazar City Chhatra Dal. Since 2020, I have been working as a member of the convening committee of Cox’s Bazar Government College Chhatra Dal.”

In 2016, Minhaj lost his left hand due to an unfortunate incident but remained undeterred. Despite all obstacles, he continues to move forward resolutely.

Vision for Cox’s Bazar:

Regarding his vision for Cox’s Bazar, Minhaj says, “We want to develop Cox’s Bazar as a modern city. I envision it as a unique district of communal harmony. Cox’s Bazar should be known across Bangladesh as a shining example of interfaith unity. It should become an ideal place for people from all over the world.”
