Days of continuous rain have carved deep gullies into the shoreline at Pechar Dwip Sea Beach and Kakra Beach as strong hill runoff flowed into the sea. The heavy currents also washed large amounts of debris onto the beaches. Environmentalists urged tourists and local residents to help keep the coastline clean by disposing of waste responsibly and joining beach-cleaning efforts.
