Mundi is a beloved Rakhine community dish known for its unique flavour and cultural significance. This dish is a traditional noodle made from rice flour, popular among indigenous hill people.
The name “Mundi” originates from the Marma community, commonly found in the Rakhine neighbourhoods of Cox’s Bazar.
This traditional food has gained widespread popularity for its delicious taste. Mundi is slightly tangy and spicy, but the sourness and heat can be adjusted to suit individual preferences.
Khine has been crafting noodles from rice flour specifically for this dish for many years. He shares the intricate process of preparing these noodles, which have become synonymous with his shop, ‘Khine Mundi.’
