Intermittent rain throughout the monsoon season has kept farmers across the coastal areas busy. Many are preparing their fields for fresh rice seedlings, while others are reworking plots damaged by recent rains and runoff. Local farmer Saidul Rahman said cultivating crops in the coastal belt is particularly challenging because of the saline environment. Despite the challenges, farmers continue working through the rain to prepare their fields and keep the seasonal cultivation going.
