Bottle gourd, a popular vegetable in Bangladesh, is available almost year-round. It thrives in various landscapes, including urban and rural areas, wetlands, riverbanks, and even home gardens or rooftop spaces. The ideal climate for cultivating bottle gourds is a subtropical environment. In Bangladesh, the peak cultivation seasons are typically from August to November and February to May. However, the production significantly increases during winter. Cox’s Bazar Life photojournalist Polash Shikdar recently captured stunning visuals of bottle gourd cultivation in the Ghorjan Bagan area of Teknaf, Cox’s Bazar.
