In an inspiring initiative, six young individuals have established the Magic Board School in Nazirartek, Cox’s Bazar, aiming to spread the light of education among the underprivileged children of the Shutkipalli (dry fish processing zone).

What began in a modest room at Mostakpara has become a beacon of hope for children who were once confined to labor-intensive work instead of classrooms.

In areas like the Shutkipalli, child labor often surpasses adult labor in numbers. Instead of carrying school bags, many of these children shoulder heavy baskets of fish or steer rickshaws.

Recognizing this stark reality, one of the founders, Jimran Mohammad Saiiak, shared, “Since 2019, I’ve been involved in various initiatives in Nazirartek, addressing education, child labor, and early marriage prevention. That’s when the idea of starting a school for these children took root.”

With the support of his friends, Jimran launched this initiative early in his college life, starting with 30 children from the community. Together with Tanzila, Fahim Tajnohad, Asif Ahmed Uday, Mizanur Rahman, and Kausar Ahmed Kayes, Jimran has fostered curiosity and creativity among these children.

The Magic Board School offers free quality education and integrates essential life skills into its curriculum. From academic subjects to practical knowledge, including basic computer skills, the school equips its students with tools for a better future.
