Known by different names across various districts in Bangladesh, this flower is most commonly referred to as “Morog Phool” or Cock’s Flower. It is scientifically named Amaranthus albus. This annual flowering plant boasts stunning colors, visually appealing and unique. Though native to tropical America, Amaranthus albus can now be found in Europe, Africa, Australia, South Asia, and beyond. In Cox’s Bazar, this vibrant flower flourishes along the Marine Drive Road, particularly in the dry, hilly regions of East Shuknasari.
