The sweet scent of rice flowers now fills the vast paddy fields of Cox’s Bazar, lending the autumn air a dreamy quality. Across the plains, golden-tipped rice stalks sway gently in the breeze, releasing a soothing aroma that seems to whisper the promise of a prosperous harvest.
At this time of year, rice plants across Cox’s Bazar are in full bloom. Farmers say the weather has been favorable, giving them hope for a strong yield this season. With no major pest attacks or natural disasters so far, the fields are lush and vibrant with life.
“This year, the rice has bloomed beautifully — something we haven’t seen in years,” said Abdul Karim, a farmer from Ramu upazila. “The scent of the flowers in the air lifts our spirits. We hope that the harvest will also be abundant.
For farmers, the flowering stage of rice is a season of joy. It’s when they watch their crops grow with care and anticipation, waiting for the day when these delicate blossoms turn into golden grains — grains that will fill homes and hearts across the country.
Agriculture officials report that both Boro and Aman paddy cultivation have gone well this year in Cox’s Bazar. Timely rainfall and adequate sunshine have helped the plants grow quickly, and — most encouragingly — no adverse weather has affected the region so far.
The blooming fields have captivated not just farmers but also passersby and nature lovers. Many visit the countryside to capture the scene in photographs, drawn by the tranquil beauty and the calming scent of rice in bloom.
May this golden season of nature linger — in the fragrance of rice flowers, the greenness of the fields, and the smiles of the farmers who nurture them.
