The technology for converting solar energy into power is becoming increasingly accessible. Not only is it eco-friendly, but it is also cost-effective, making it a preferred alternative worldwide.

Along the coastal belt of Cox’s Bazar, thousands of deep-sea fishing boats are now using solar power instead of traditional kerosene lamps. This transition allows fishermen to operate efficiently at night.

A local fisherman shared his experience:
“We used to rely on kerosene lamps for night fishing, but now we use solar power, which provides ample light and makes our work easier.”

While many countries are incorporating solar energy into marine transport, Bangladesh has yet to fully embrace this technology in its larger vessels. Although solar panels are being used in boats for lighting at night, their usage remains limited.
