A Bangladesh Biman flight that departed from Cox’s Bazar narrowly avoided disaster after one of its rear wheels detached mid-air on Sunday. The aircraft landed at Dhaka’s Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport without any casualties.
Following the incident, the authorities at Biman Bangladesh Airlines have formed an investigation committee to investigate the matter.
ABM Touhidul Kabir, General Manager (Public Relations) of Biman Bangladesh Airlines, confirmed that a probe panel has been formed, headed by Captain Enam Talukder, the airline’s Chief of Safety.
Airlines officials said Flight BG 436 carried 71 passengers, including children. The flight took off from Cox’s Bazar at 1:35 PM. Shortly after takeoff, one of the aircraft’s rear wheels detached and fell to the ground.
Thanks to pilot Captain Jamil Billah’s expertise, the aircraft landed safely in Dhaka at 2:22 PM. Biman authorities confirmed that all passengers were unharmed and safe.
