Boatmen and fishermen at Reju Khal Ghat are preparing to head out to sea in search of hilsa. Boatman Ali Ahmed said they plan to stay offshore for six days, loading the vessel with all necessary supplies, including food and water for 10 to 12 crew members. He added that they expect to return after six days. As other fish become scarce toward the end of winter, many are turning to deep-sea hilsa fishing in hopes of a better catch.
